Tucked into a bend of its own river and framed by acres of woodland and gardens, Ballynahinch Castle offers one of Ireland’s most beautiful settings, now with a newly refurbished Terrace to enjoy it from.

Open daily and serving lunch from 12.30 to 4pm, the Terrace is bright, inviting, and designed for long, leisurely afternoons. A retractable roof makes the most of sunny days, while cushioned café chairs and marble-topped tables add comfort and charm.

Sheltered yet open to the fresh Connemara air, the Terrace features a special menu by Head Chef Danni Barry, light, elegant dishes made for relaxed dining: oysters and caviar, seafood platters, lobster rolls, prawn cocktails, carpaccio, spagitela  and salads with holiday-style flair.

“The Terrace is our new dining space,” says Chef Barry. “We wanted a menu that celebrates local seafood and classic dishes. It’s a joy to bring this to life for our guests.”

With birdsong overhead and the river rushing below, this is outdoor dining at its most scenic.
