Limited release of 100 casks in 2020

Dingle Distillery is giving whiskey lovers a rare chance to invest in a cask to call their own with a unique sale of 100 full barrels of perfectly distilled spirit before the end of the year.

As part of the Descendants cask programme buyers will also be able to decide how long their personalised whiskey will rest in the barrels and will have the choice of bottling it in eight years’ time or leaving it to mature for up to 21 years for a more considered sup in 2041, or even longer.

Only four casks are produced daily in Dingle Distillery, each one overseen by Master Distiller Graham Coull, and the casks will rest in the Distillery warehouse under his watchful eye to mature for a minimum of eight years.

Choose from Port, Bourbon or Sherry (Oloroso or PX) first-fill casks with new make spirit from Dingle Distillery. Each personalised cask comes with a certificate of ownership, insurance, annual deliveries of the latest single malt release, sample cask tastings, unlimited tour access of the Distillery with a guest as well as a 15% discount in the distillery shop and website.

Prices for a cask start at €10,000 and each cask comes with an optional payment plan:

The 190 litre bourbon cask is €10,000 or €11,000 paid over three years after an initial payment of €3,500 and three subsequent payments of €2,500.

The 225 litre port cask is €11,500 or €12,500 paid over three years after an initial payment of €3,800 and three subsequent payments of €2,900.

The 250 litre Oloroso or PX sherry cask is €12,000 or €13,000 paid over three years after an initial payment of €4,000 and three subsequent payment of €3,000.

Elliot Hughes, Managing Director at Dingle Distillery, comment:

“The Descendants follows on from The Founding Fathers cask programme, which saw early investors become a part of whiskey history as they exchanged their investment for a finished whiskey cask bearing their name, some years later. The Descendants cask programme is ideal for individuals looking to secure a legacy for their family or for groups of friends or colleagues wishing to invest together in something truly unique.”

Graham Coull, Master Distiller at Dingle Distillery, comments:

“Every aspect of our process is manual from the mashing in, to the addition of yeast and the cutting of the heads and tails of our spirit. Our natural water is supplied 240 ft below the Distillery, making the journey from water to grain a short one. At Dingle Distillery we take our time hand filling only four casks each day. I will personally oversee every step of your cask’s journey, including that first cask sample, to your finished bottle, whether that’s eight years from now, 12 or 21.”
