Killarney Hotels has officially opened four new state of the art staff accommodation blocks at the five-star Europe Hotel & Resort in Killarney, Co. Kerry, just in time for the busy summer season. The two-story accommodation blocks each contain 10 bedrooms, living quarters, terraces and extensive planting to enhance the surroundings.
As one of Ireland’s leading tourist destinations, Killarney and the surrounding areas are under pressure, in particular during the summer months to accommodate the influx of hospitality staff. As a result, there is an increasing demand for staff accommodation within the hotels in the area. Killarney Hotels Ltd have been leading the industry by responding to this demand.
Attracting staff from all over the world, The Europe Hotel & Resort is the jewel in the Killarney Hotels crown. The resort’s new accommodation includes 40 bedrooms, complementing the existing staff accommodation facility at the hotel.
The €3 million construction project was completed by Kerry based firm Griffin Brothers Construction. Alongside the high-spec accommodation, the new staff facility at The Europe hotel & Resort boasts a host of facilities including a gym, WiFi, laundry facilities and parking, bicycle storage and extensive common areas.
The 187-bedroom hotel has gained a reputation over the past almost sixty years of sublime service, fantastic food and a staff that constantly thinks of the welfare of each and every hotel guest. Framed by the picturesque views of the Lakes of Killarney, The Europe Hotel & Resort is a truly unique place to escape the stresses and strains of day-to-day life.
“We are proud of our commitment to the comfort and well-being of our team and with the shortage of rental accommodation on offer in Killarney we realise the difficulty that this causes to our employees from outside of the region,” said Michael Brennan, Managing Director of Killarney Hotels.
Killarney Hotels has always offered staff accommodation at all of their 3 properties (The Europe Hotel & Resort, The Dunloe Hotel & Gardens, and Ard na Sidhe Country House) and this additional construction demonstrates the ongoing commitment of the Liebherr family to the Killarney region.
