Bruxelles Bar is set to host a special event to honour the 75th birthday of rock legend Phil Lynott on Tuesday, August 20th. Known for its deep ties to the Dublin rock scene, Bruxelles has been a favourite haunt for iconic bands like Thin Lizzy and Skid Row, as well as legendary musicians such as Axl Rose, Ronnie Wood, and Liam Gallagher.

Phil Lynott, the charismatic frontman of Thin Lizzy, has left an indelible mark on Bruxelles. A statue of Lynott, a popular attraction for rock fans, stands proudly outside the bar, while one of his original bass guitars hangs from the ceiling inside. The Flanders Rock Bar, nestled in the basement, is home to a striking mural of Lynott, further cementing his enduring legacy in this iconic Dublin establishment.

To celebrate what would have been Lynott’s 75th birthday, Bruxelles is hosting a Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy Appreciation Day. The event promises to be a fitting tribute to the legendary musician, featuring back-to-back Thin Lizzy classics throughout the day in the Flanders Rock Bar.

For the ultimate fan experience, a complimentary tattoo artist will be in the Zodiac bar from 4:30 PM to 10:30 PM, offering Thin Lizzy flash tattoos to mark the occasion. Tattoos will be done by a professional artist in a sterile environment, with participants required to be 18 years or older and to sign a standard waiver.

A special Thin Lizzy Whiskey signature serves menu will also be available, and official Thin Lizzy x Bruxelles merchandise will be on offer. To round off the celebration, DJ Nico will take over the decks from 9 PM, playing Phil Lynott and Thin Lizzy tracks to keep the party going late into the night.

In a social media post, a spokesperson for Bruxelles shared, “As it’s Phil Lynott’s 75th birthday on Tuesday, August 20th, we wanted to mark the day with a tribute to Phil and Thin Lizzy in Bruxelles. We are always very privileged to be connected to the history of such a legendary and iconic band.”
