Compass Group Ireland, the chosen foodservice provider for Páirc Uí Chaoimh, has committed to sourcing as much food produce as possible from Cork and Munster suppliers for the newly redeveloped sports stadium. The company, which is also the food partner for Dublin’s Aviva Stadium, secured the catering contract for the new multi-purpose facility when it re-opened on July 22nd. Local suppliers both in Cork and across Munster confirmed by Compass Group include Barry’s Tea and Hodgins Sausages, while all beef is 100% Irish and sourced from local farmers in Cork, where possible. In addition, Atlantis Seafood will be operating two boats out of the west Cork harbour of Castletownbere, who will be providing locally caught fish for the ‘Catch of the Day’. Since its appointment, Compass Group has created 350 casual jobs at Pairc Ui Chaoimh, in addition to seven full-time positions based in Cork to service the facility. The roles filled include full time service team, while part time positions include Hospitality & Bar Managers/Supervisors, Chefs, Bar and Waiting Staff as well as Catering Assistants. The Páirc Uí Chaoimh catering contract win bolsters Compass Group’s presence in Cork, where it already provides food services to a range of businesses including Boston Scientific, Pfizer and Aviva Health Care.
